Reading Response #1

"One of the most obvious aesthetic results of using preview-renders was that the image appears aliased or jagged." -David OReilly
1. I honestly can not tell the difference between these two images. What are the specific differences between the two that makes one jagged and one smooth?

"We are used to seeing extremely smooth 3d animation (on 1ʻs, or movement in every frame). The eye will happily accept movement on 2ʻs but only if there is a static or slowly moving camera, if the camera is moving to much it makes the animation look choppy and unusual." -David OReilly

2. Is this due to recent technological advances or has animation always moved on every frame? In other words, when animation first came out would the eye happily accept movement on 2's more so than today?
